Scott Friedman -Director, North America
Scott joined Text 100 in January 2003, taking on a leadership role in the agency's New York office. He initially helped to manage the agency's work for IBM across the U.S., and eventually took on the role of Global Client Advocate for IBM, driving integrated communications across account teams in North America, Asia and Europe.
As office lead for New York, he played a vital role in building the prominence of the office within the region and helping to maintain and expand its marquee account list, including companies such as Fujifilm, Gartner, Philips, EarthLink, NTT Verio and Lenovo.
Currently, as regional director for North America, Scott oversees Text 100's largest region, comprising five offices, a diverse employee population and a stellar list of global and local clients.
Previously, Scott was technology practice director at Manning Selvage & Lee (MS&L) in New York, where he supported numerous divisions of IBM including IBM Global Services, IBM Research and IBM Life Sciences.
Scott has provided branding, PR planning and implementation for a wide variety of high tech clients in segments that include services, hardware, software, telecommunications and others. Previous technology clients have included NCR, Silicon Graphics Inc., Digex, Global One and Neoware. He has implemented branding programs for tech and non-tech clients including General Motors, Inova Health System, FatWire, SITEL and ZixIt.
Prior to moving into public relations, Scott was an editor with CMP Publications. He was a section editor and hardware reporter for Open Systems Today, covering such product areas as PCs, workstations, servers, semiconductors, supercomputers and peripherals. He continued to cover the hardware beat at InformationWeek when it merged with Open Systems Today.
He was also a daily newspaper reporter and editor with the North Jersey Herald & News and the Daily Record in New Jersey, as well as Gannett Westchester Newspapers in New York. As a reporter in New Jersey, his beat included the State House, where he covered legislative action and statewide elections.
Scott earned his bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in journalism from the State University of New York, College at New Paltz. He also attended Pennsylvania State University, where he was an engineering major and midshipman in the Navy ROTC, as well as the University of Delaware.
